We will be cutting the meadow to reduce the growth of nettles and hogweed in preparation for the introduction of wildflower seed mix in the autumn. We will also be removing any Himalayan Balsam that we may have missed.

We will be studying a variety of butterflies, including White-letter Hairstreaks and Purple Hairstreaks at sites across the city. Meet at Newmarket Road Park & Ride.

With the introduction of cattle in the next couple of weeks we will be preparing the reserve, including cleaning the water trough, fixing signage and checking the site is safe for their return. We will also be clearing Rosebay Willowherb.

Nine Wells
To promote a diverse range of flora and fauna we will be cutting bays and removing the cuttings.

Help is needed to prepare the reserve for the Family Fun Day taking place on Saturday 12th September (details to follow shortly)

Byrons Pool
We will be cutting and raking the meadow as usual but we will also be scarifying the meadow before introducing some native wildflower seeds. We will also need to erect some fencing to allow the seeds to establish.
