Have you got time to spare this weekend for a few of our flying friends?
Saturday 24th there is a Moth and Bat night happening at Logan’s Meadow reserve, meeting at the Swift tower at 9pm.
There will be 3 Moth traps in action plus experts on hand to identify and enlighten. A guided bat walk at just past 9pm around the reserve will be happening too. Bring a torch and a bat monitor if you have one.
Sunday 25th the Moth traps will be ‘unpacked’ at 10am on wards where all Moths found in the traps will be identified and recorded, then carefully released. Children welcome, outdoor shoes appropriate, if the night is too rainy the event will be cancelled.
It’s the Big Butterfly Count too, running till 8th August this vital piece of Citizen Science is also lots of fun.
