Proposed extension for Logan’s Meadow.

Boardwalk with pond view

There is a new bid to more than double the size of the existing Logan’s Meadow Reserve. The project is part of a joint proposal by the City Council and the newly formed Friends of Logan’s Meadow group, the plan is to create a new fen, wet grassland and woodland habitats. This creation will help to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change and help increase biodiversity in the reserve overall. This project will also be contributing towards Natural Cambridgeshire’s Doubling Nature Vision, see link.

The extension will help towards increasing the city’s tree canopy cover: https://www.cambridge.gov.uk/cambridge-canopy-project

A public consultation was widely publicised between 12th Oct and the 20th November 2020 and received a healthy 460 responses. The report summarises these responses but also outlines the proposed next steps. To view the report please go to:https://www.cambridge.gov.uk/logans-meadow-local-nature-reserve
